Research Interests:
  • My research interests include Systems Biology, Bioreactor Design, Bioseparations
    Current focus is on Metabolic Modeling of L-Lysine production from Corynebacterium glutamicum feeding sustitutable substrates- A Systems' Biology approach.
    The quest for finding an interesting host organism, which allows the manipulation of metabolism by r-DNA techniques, for the effective uptake of wide range of substrates and for the overproduction of cellular metabolites, is underway. With this theme, an extensive literature survey on such an organism, Corynebacterium glutamicum CECT79, which was primarily known for glutamate natural synthesizer and was later manipulated for the efficient synthesis of L-Lysine- an essential amino acid, was done. This further requires utilization of the Metabolic Flux Analysis methods and Models of L-Lysine biosynthetic pathways in Corynebacterium glutamicum. Some well-known findings on the metabolic carbon flux redistribution of Corynebacterium glutamicum on different sugars and organic acids as sole carbon source and experimental methodologies are also studied.
    My other interests on Metabolic Flux Analysis, Elementary Mode Analysis, etc.
